The Nokia 5235 Comes With Music is a low cost touchscreen smartphone with a large display, and 12 or 18 months of free music downloads from Nokia’s Comes With Music service. The handset might look familiar, and that’s because the hardware on the 5235 is identical to the 5230, and it is also closely related to the 5800, 5530 and X6 touchscreen phones.

As with the 5230, the Nokia 5235 comes with a 3.2″ 640 x 360 pixel touchscreen display, microSD expandable memory, Bluetooth, 3.5G support, a 2 megapixel camera, FM radio, multimedia player and a 3.5mm audio connector. There’s a big 1320 mAh battery too which can give up to 5 hours talktime on 3G.

There’s no WiFi support on the 5235, but it does support HSDPA downloads of up to 3.6 Mbps. If you want WiFi, then our recommendation is to go for the 5800 instead. We mentioned the 2 megapixel camera, which is the same unit as found on the 5230. Really, it’s pretty poor when it comes to stills photographs, but it can capture video at up to 640 x 480 pixels at 30 frames per second which is rather good, and certainly good enough for uploading to YouTube.

The Nokia 5235 works with Facebook, MySpace, Ovi and YouTube, and because this is an S60 smartphone then there are a load of applications available for it. The large screen is ideal for web browsing, and it’s remarkable to find a display of this quality in a handset that’s so cheap.

We keep talking about price – so how much is the Nokia 5235? Nokia say that the handset should retail for around €145 before tax and subsidy, around the same as the current 5230. The 5235 offers very good value for money even before you take into account the music downloads, so if you take advantage of Comes With Music then this looks like a real bargain.

It is perhaps worth noting that the 5235 doesn’t come with a memory card in the standard sales package, but it does include a wired headset. Some of Nokia’s data sheets say that it includes a USB cable, whereas others say that it doesn’t.. so if you need a USB cable, check before ordering. Nokia say that the 5235 Comes With Music should be available during Q1 2010 in White or Black colour schemes, each with an ice-blue tinted chrome rim.

The company says that a plastic cover on some models could come loose and expose internal components that could cause injury while the charger is plugged into a live socket. Nokia says no injuries have been reported.

Chargers made by subcontractor BYD, including the AC-3E and AC-3U, manufactured between June 15 and August 9, and the AC-4U, manufactured between April 13 and October 25, could potentially cause electric shock. Europe and North and Latin American markets are affected, though the recall does not concern the UK, China, Britain, Brazil, and Argentina.

Users can exchange their charger for a new one, free of charge, by navigating to Nokia’s charger exchange program.

According to Bert Nordberg, president, Sony Ericsson, “The XPERIA X10 and the family of phones launching in the first half of 2010 underpin our commitment to an open and multi-platform strategy that maximises choice for the consumer and delivers the best possible consumer experience. The reaction from our global operator partners to the XPERIA X10 has been extremely positive, and we will be rolling out across the world including Japan from the first half of 2010.”

Introducing signature applications like Mediascape and Timescape, the XPERIA X10 lets consumers organise everything in their phone in an intuitive way. Sony Ericsson Timescape manages all your communication with one person in one place. Browse through your conversations the bright way to check out your Facebook, Twitter, photos, emails and texts all in one go.

Sony Ericsson Mediascape is the smart way to get all the music, photos and videos you want from your favourite friends and artists. It accesses content from everywhere — your phone, YouTube, PlayNow — and presents everything for you.
Intelligence capabilities, integrated into Mediascape and Timescape, can automatically recognise connections between contacts, content and media. By recommending alternative ways to communicate or guiding to new media experiences, consumers can discover more in a truly open way.

With the XPERIA X10, users can download any application that they want direct from a wide variety of stores including PlayNow and the Android Market.

Have you ever been in a hurry and really needed to find an answer to something, but there was no one to ask? Like what is the latest cricket score update, where is the closest restaurant, pharmacy? Now you can just speak your query. Google India has launched a downloadable Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 (most N and E series models e.g. N 86, E-63) users. This will enable easier and faster access to Google Search.

So the next time you need to order a pizza, enquire about a taxi service, call up a florist or in case you want to access the plethora of information available on the Internet while you are on the road just use search by voice on GMA on your Nokia S60 phones to initiate a Google Search on your mobile. The free-to-use application helps users search for updates on cricket and local business listings. The application automatically detects your location. So now as soon as you enter a pizza or pharmacy query and it will return results closest to your current location.

In addition to this, Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 also has a smart suggest feature which suggests search terms query, thus minimising typing in case you are using the cumbersome mobile key board and this result in faster completion of your query term.

Announcing the launch, Vinay Goel, head, products, Google India, said, “There’s no denying the importance of search by voice in India, and the extension of Google’s search by voice feature to more mobile handsets is a natural next step for our mobile strategy. Speech is one of our key innovations in the mobile space out of the India engineering centre. With millions of new mobile users being added every month Google Mobile App’s will provide them with a quick and easy way to get the required information whenever and wherever they need it.”

Voice search speeds up the entire experience and the process of conducting a Google Search using your mobile. All you have to do is to download the Google Mobile App from m.google.co.in on your phone!

Google Mobile App on your Nokia phone enables you to: get rid of typing on the mobile keyboard… just speak your queries; search for business, weather and film information without specifying where you are; and start a Google search with just one click. Suggestions appear as you type, to save you time.
