Have you ever been in a hurry and really needed to find an answer to something, but there was no one to ask? Like what is the latest cricket score update, where is the closest restaurant, pharmacy? Now you can just speak your query. Google India has launched a downloadable Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 (most N and E series models e.g. N 86, E-63) users. This will enable easier and faster access to Google Search.

So the next time you need to order a pizza, enquire about a taxi service, call up a florist or in case you want to access the plethora of information available on the Internet while you are on the road just use search by voice on GMA on your Nokia S60 phones to initiate a Google Search on your mobile. The free-to-use application helps users search for updates on cricket and local business listings. The application automatically detects your location. So now as soon as you enter a pizza or pharmacy query and it will return results closest to your current location.

In addition to this, Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 also has a smart suggest feature which suggests search terms query, thus minimising typing in case you are using the cumbersome mobile key board and this result in faster completion of your query term.

Announcing the launch, Vinay Goel, head, products, Google India, said, “There’s no denying the importance of search by voice in India, and the extension of Google’s search by voice feature to more mobile handsets is a natural next step for our mobile strategy. Speech is one of our key innovations in the mobile space out of the India engineering centre. With millions of new mobile users being added every month Google Mobile App’s will provide them with a quick and easy way to get the required information whenever and wherever they need it.”

Voice search speeds up the entire experience and the process of conducting a Google Search using your mobile. All you have to do is to download the Google Mobile App from m.google.co.in on your phone!

Google Mobile App on your Nokia phone enables you to: get rid of typing on the mobile keyboard… just speak your queries; search for business, weather and film information without specifying where you are; and start a Google search with just one click. Suggestions appear as you type, to save you time.

Adobe has launched Photoshop.com Mobile for iPhone, bringing a simplified version of its flagship software to the iPhone and iPod touch. The new app can crop, flip and rotate photos, or adjust exposure, saturation and tint, with option of converting to black-and-white. Two filters are included: Sketch renders a photo as a drawing, while Soft Focus simulates its namesake lens effect. Exposure and filter adjustments are generally made with swipe commands.

Some one-touch effects are included, such as Vibrant, which saturates colors. Pop presents a multi-image rendering with alternating colors, while Border adds a white frame, and Vignette Blur softens edges while keeping the center sharp. Other effects include Warm Vintage, Rainbow, White Glow and Soft Black and White.

Completed images can be uploaded to Photoshop.com, where up to 2GB of files can be stored for free. The website allows users to further edit, host and share photos.

The app also supports undos and redos, and can save an original copy of a photo at the beginning of the editing process. It requires iPhone 2.0 firmware, and is a free download from the App Store.

Set the artist inside free, as you craft a phone interface that is just right for you. And never miss out on all the amazing things happening in your world with social networking integrated to the core of Tattoo.

HTC Tattoo is all about you. It’s the first phone that can be customized inside and out. Decide how your phone looks, then decide what you want to look at. Texts? Twitter? Your photos? When you’re done customizing HTC Tattoo, you’ll have a phone that speaks loudly about who you are and what you’re into.

Your phone is by your side 24/7 and looks do matter. With HTC Tattoo, you don’t just pick the look, you make the look, by designing your own personal skin for the phone. Next, you decide what really matters to you on your phone. So if you’re into chatting, texting, and tweeting, you’ll put all your communication widgets and apps right on your front screen. If you’re into games, you’ll visit Android Market and download all the games you want. Put them right on the surface – ready to kill boredom whenever it tries to come out.

This 2.8-inch touchscreen device is pretty compact (106 x 55.2 x 14-mm / 113 grams) inspite of the features it carries. So count in a 528MHz Qualcomm MSM7225 processor, 512MB ROM, 256MB RAM, a 3.2MP autofocus camera, 3.5-mm headset jack, microSD slot, internal GPS, 900/2100MHz HSPA/UMTS and quad-band GSM/EDGE, 802.11b/g WiFi, digital compass, accelerometer, and Bluetooth 2.0. Yes, you will not miss the trademark Sense UI experience as HTC has extended it to this device as well. The covers are apparently fully customizable – and hence the device flaunts the name “Tattoo”.

Google introduced Google Sync for Mobile earlier this year with the ability to sync your Contacts and Calendar only. However, today Google also activated Gmail for Google Sync.

Using the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync protocol, Google Sync, now allows to get Gmail messages pushed directly to a mobile phone. Users can configure the function to automatically push Gmail messages to the phone’s native e-mail application. That means your Inbox will be always up to date when you have always-on internet connection. For sure, Google Sync for Mobile still allows to sync just Contacts, Calendar or Gmail or any combination of the three.

Google Sync allows users to selectively choose which information to sync with their mobile devices. The service also works both ways, helping to quickly organize events or use a computer as a backup for the mobile device. To try Google Sync, visit m.google.com/sync from your computer.

Google told the U.S. Federal Communications Commission that Apple did indeed reject the Google Voice application from the iPhone store, despite contrary statements from Apple. Both Google and Apple have responded to questions posed by the FCC about the status of the Google Voice application. Apple said that it was still considering the application.

But Google, whose full comments only surfaced on the FCC Web site on Friday, said that Apple informed it that the Google Voice application was rejected because “Apple believed the application duplicated the core dialer functionality of the iPhone. The Apple representatives indicated that the company did not want applications that could potentially replace such functionality,” Google wrote in the letter.

Apple did not immediately reply to a request for comment about Google’s filing, but in a statement made to The Wall Street Journal it insisted that it has not rejected Google Voice and that it continues to discuss it with Google.

Apple serves as gatekeeper for applications in its iPhone App Store. It has offered a few guidelines about what is not allowed, but has come under fire for rejecting some applications apparently only because they compete with services from either Apple or AT&T.

Google contends in the filing that Apple delivered the news about the rejection of the Google Voice application verbally, during a phone call between Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of product marketing, and Alan Eustace, Google’s senior vice president of engineering and research.
