Google Introduces Starred Local Places for Mobile
Google has announced updates to its mobile Local Search experience. Users are now able to “star” places and businesses on the desktop version of Google Maps so they can later find them easily on their mobile device and have access to hours, reviews, photos, and more.
The web software also offers users the ability to browse localities by category instead of using the search function. If a user is searching for nearby bicycling activities, they can browse to “recreation” and select the bike category, for example. All of the new features are available by browsing to google.com on a mobile device and clicking the “local” tab.
